Tesla has officially launched sales of its Model Y rear-wheel drive car in South Korea, with a starting price of 56.99 million won ($45,139), according to the automaker’s website. The pricing makes the vehicles eligible for the maximum government subsidies available. The Model Y offers a driving range of 350 kilometers (217.48 miles) and a top speed of approximately 217 km per hour. Deliveries are expected between August and September. Reports indicate that the Model Y cars for the South Korean market are manufactured in China, as shown in a tweet by Tesla Korea featuring a video of cars being produced in the Shanghai Gigafactory and shipped. With subsidies and Tesla’s referral program, the price can be further reduced to below 50 million won. Seoul consumers may receive subsidies of up to 8.6 million won for electric vehicles priced below 57 million won.
