NEW DELHI: IT powerhouse Tech Mahindra announced on Wednesday that it has entered into an agreement to establish a data, artificial intelligence, and cloud centre of excellence (CoE) in Riyadh with the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.
According to the corporation, the CoE will combine academic and socioeconomic objectives to uplift small and medium-sized businesses, enhance the nation’s capacity for high-tech expertise, and create high-quality jobs.
This collaboration adheres to Tech Mahindra’s DigitALL business transformation concept. Tech Mahindra places a strong emphasis on investing in cutting-edge technologies and solutions that enable digital transformation and satisfy the changing needs of its customers as part of the NXT.NOW framework, which aims to improve the “Human Centric Experience.”
The adoption of cloud, data, and AI will be crucial to Saudi Arabia’s IT and digital growth, according to Haitham AlOhali, Vice Minister of MCIT in Saudi Arabia. We are happy to announce this partnership with Tech Mahindra, a pioneer in the digital space, which will help Saudi Arabia access resources from around the world and foster the development of talent and intellectual property over the next years.
The MoU was signed by Ram Ramachandran, Head-Middle East & Africa, Tech Mahindra, and Ibrahem N. Al-Nasser, Deputy Minister for Technology of MCIT. Officials from the Saudi government and Tech Mahindra’s top management team also attended the ceremony.
The world of data, AI, and cloud is rapidly evolving due to shifting objectives in the public and commercial sectors internationally as well as locally in Saudi Arabia, according to CP Gurnani, MD and CEO of Tech Mahindra. Building new intellectual property (IP) and assets, bringing innovation, and—most importantly—training and upskilling local workers are some of the levers of this change in priorities. Our collaboration with MCIT to create the CoE will aid in meeting Saudi Arabia’s rapidly evolving need for digital transformation. We are eager to collaborate with MCIT and nearby universities to build a varied, digital-first ecosystem in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
Data analytics and moral AI will be adopted more quickly and sustainably thanks to the data & AI and cloud CoE. According to the corporation, it will further advance cloud-enabled transformation across industries to build local assets, intellectual property (IP), and promote a cognitive approach across smart services to support Saudi Vision 2030’s goals for digital-led transformation.
To foster creativity and quicken the Kingdom’s transition to a digital economy, Tech Mahindra will hold hackathons focused on data, AI, and cloud. By offering project deployment programmes that improve skills and advance careers in data & artificial intelligence and cloud, the alliance will provide training and development for 2,500 Saudi nationals.
