NEW DELHI: All Google Cloud customers now have access to Google’s new “Immersive Stream for XR” service, which eliminates the need for specialised software or sophisticated hardware to fully immerse users in a 3D or augmented reality (AR) world.
According to the tech giant’s blog post, users can access extended reality (XR) by clicking a link or scanning a QR code.
“Google Maps’ “immersive view” function is powered by immersive stream for XR, and automotive and retail businesses are increasing consumers’ at-home shopping experiences by enabling them to virtually configure new cars and see household products.
The new tool also supports content created with “Unreal Engine 5.0.”
The business also introduced the option to generate information in landscape mode in order to support tablet and desktop users.

The tech giant claimed that landscape mode and the capacity to render to larger displays provided greater space for the development of complex user interfaces (UIs) and interactions, as well as more fully featured immersive applications.
According to the company, the application “utilises Google Cloud GPUs to host, render, and broadcast high-quality photorealistic experiences to millions of mobile devices worldwide.”
The organisation also unveiled Chrome beta version 111, which features a trial for a feature that might improve the browser’s picture-in-picture functionality as well as a number of other improvements.
