Flipkart to help West Bengal MSMEs, artisans expand their businesses on e-commerce platform

Flipkart in association with the West Bengal government will be helping local artisans, weavers, and MSMEs to boost their businesses on the e-commerce platform.

This initiative is undertaken through a MoU between the Indian e-commerce company and the West Bengal government and the agreement was signed with the state’s MSME and textiles department.

Emphasizing their strengthening their commitments toward the growth of MSMEs,  Principal Secretary Rajesh Pandey from the MSME department said, “This association will enhance the development of artisans, weavers, small businesses, and MSMEs by providing access to opportunities that e-commerce enables.”

This will drive both commercial and social development by creating inclusive growth, he added.

Expressing their aim to support home-grown sellers, Flipkart Group Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Rajneesh Kumar said it will be instrumental in driving the economic growth of weavers, artisans, and small businesses with the e-commerce company’s national market access.
