The latest iOS 16 operating system update from American tech giant Apple includes a redesigned lock screen with widgets, unsend and edit for iMessage, new keyboard haptics, a new Home app, and many more improvements.

The iPadOS won’t, however, receive the version 16 upgrade today; instead, it will receive the iPadOS 16.1 release.

In the meantime, iOS 16’s lock screen has seen the majority of the noticeable upgrades thanks to the addition of widgets, which may be used to display notifications.

Due to a new always-on display, these widgets on iPhone 14 Pro models will even be visible when the device is off. iMessage has undergone a number of upgrades for normal users, including the ability to edit messages for up to 15 minutes after sending them and to cancel them up to two minutes later.

According to The Verge, audio messages on iOS 16 now include the ability to fast-forward or rewind while being listened to, as well as a “mark as unread” feature.
